Question Another newbie building her first PC

I'm building my 1st PC using an asus m2n32-sli deluxe motherboard, AMD AM2 Dual Core athlon64 5000+ CPU, Hiper type R 580 sata psu, MSI Nivada geforce nx7900 series graphics card.

I put it all together ok and switched it on the bios came up ok and everything appeared sata hd and memory.

The motherboard manual said i could update the bios using the cd that came with it so i popped it in (before installing the OS) and white writing on a black screen came up saying something about choosing 1 of 3 options. for some reason i decided to restart instead of choosing the 1 of the options.

when it restarted it all powered on but the screen led stayed orange and thats where i'm stuck. there was no POST beep either, but the hardrive light comes on red then goes green?

i'ved tried reseating all the cables, trying another screen and reseating the graphics card and resetting the bios by clearing the RTC RAM by removing the battery and moving the jumper but no joy..... HELP!!

You might be best off contacting Asus

That is a nice motherboard. Unfortunately interrupting BIOS flashes is quite serious.

Although it is not clear that you were actually into a flash process yet.

If clearing the CMOS had no result the only other thing I can think of is to remove the RAM and try to boot once without it then go and put it back and try again.

    Otherwise I would call Asus.
