    Problems With Computer/ 3D Graphics

Im not sure if this is the right place to post. . .
My computer; a Dell Inspiron 600m has problems playing 3D games or other programs like it. Ive been told it undeclocks as it gets really hot and the program freezes or becomes shown in slow motion. I also loose the keyboard and mouse even if i close the program. Can someone please explain and help me with what i need to do. (I Think I need an external fan capable of doing the job on a 600,)

You might want to open it and clean it out (dust etc.) and check the fans.

You can also get laptop coolers which are basically a pair of bottom mounted fans.

As an experiment you could try working in a very cool or cold environment.

actually, I have tried working in cooler environments, and they last longer without underclocking.

you may just need to clean it out (as jephree stated) is your fan making any strange noises? or is it louder or quieter than usual?

is it temperature controlled? (i.e. does it come of at full power when you are playing a 3d game and slow down when you are not)

    ice pack! lol just joking.

all i can think of is like what they said... get some fans. or perhaps you can invest a little bit on a desktop? i think those are better for 3D gaming.

and i'm not exactly sure what's the specs of the Dell Inspiron laptop you're using... mind posting them up?

with a desktop, you get better specs for your money and they are easier to cool/upgrade/repair/mod, the only advantages i can see for a laptop are 1)it is easy to move around (work-home for example) and 2)there are no cables

anyway... extra fans a good clean and perhaps run an anti-spyware and anti-virus program should improve performance
