Re: I need help finding a motherboard
A micro is smaller. They are usually for flat desktop models.
If you have a mid or full size tower then it would take a standard although many take either.
You would only need a micro if your case was a flat (pizza box) type desktop.
Thanks for the thanks.

Alright, I checked with the cover's manufactorer and it says tis compatible with micro. Thank you so freaking much for helping me out! I wish everyone on the net was as kind as you! Seriously, you are so amazing!

Thanks.
I like to help. At least try.
If your case has the option for either Micro or Standard I would suggest Standard as Micro boards have some limitations just because of their smaller size.

ATX and Micro ATX, mainly the size difference and some slight specs if i'm not mistaken. usually the Micro ATX has very limited upgrading capabilities, as space is very limited. it probably has limited 2 RAM slots and some might not even have a AGP or PCIE slot. but it differs.

Kaistar's right. In Micro ATX you're limited to the fan power/speed, PSU power and size, the RAM and its slots, hardly any PCIEx16 that I've seen, the graphics is limited, the SATA support aswell, overheating is an issue with the cramped space, fiddling about and seeing everything clearly is a pain due again to the tiny mushed in hardware and having more than one fan is also a kinda impossibility. I've hardly seen many Micro ATX without soldered CPU's aswell.
Right about Jephree there. He doesn't like to admit it though
