CPU upgrade compatable with mobo?
At the moment i am currently going through a revamp of my Desktop PC. im thinking about buying a CPU upgrade to a Intel P4 3.0 Ghz in a socket 478 motherboard. My current specs are as follows (its quite embarrasing :S). I was just wondering whether it is worth doing it or not, i found a relativey cheap chip for $115 with the specs i wrote before.

The only manual that is listed for that motherboard is in Chinese.

I would consult your manual. If it is Overclockable you can probably push your 2.5 to 2.8 at least.
It is difficult to answer your question without the motherboard specs which I cannot find at the moment:

Personally I would go for a new motherboard.

Yeah i've kind of ditched the idea of upgrading an already outdated computer and am going for a whole revamp, probably AM2 mobo with SLI considering it will be dedicated to gaming, if only i could afford an AMD 5000 processor! Thanks for your help anyway!
Cheers!
