What is the make of the new hard drive?

Did it come with a setup floppy or CD?

Easiest to put it on a floppy. Then boot the floppy and choose to install the drive.

Sorry I don't remember the exact options but I can look them up if needs be.

could it be that for some reason the HD is not compatible with the motherboard? I plugged the HD to another comp as a master and its installing windows just fine =/ btw for some reason that file from the link wont dl . Also, it showed the same message when I plugged the drive on the other comp "setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration..." but this time it went past that screen and started to install >.<

Whether or not this will help I don't know given your last information.

It does appear to be some hardware conflict.

I will re-read this whole thread later tonight and hopefully will have another idea.
