Pc specs and game, help please

    Hey all,

I'm in abit of a predicament. You see, the sequel to a new game that i've been waiting for for years now is finally coming out, only I just found out the graphic card my PC has is out of date. Therefore I sent most of last night finding my PC specs and finding a suitable graphics card but the majority of them are APG x8 - where my PC is APG x4.

Can anyone help me out and try to find a card that'll be able to play this game:

My PC specs can be found here:

    Thanks in advance!

AGP 8X is backwards compatible. 8X cards are actually 8X 4X.

Whether or not this game will run with an 8X card running at 4X speeds is another question.

The only way to run an 8X at 8X would be a new motherboard. Yet if you go that route you should jump up to PCI_E 16X.

I cannot get your computer link to work but the game minimum from the previous link indicate:

System requirements 2.2GHz P4, 512MB of RAM, NVidia 5600Ultra or ATI 9500pro or better 128mb video card

The old RAM should fit that new board but that's about it.

Of course the Power Supply and your drives should be fine as well. Please note that you will need to reinstall your Operating System (if 2K or XP) and if all you have are HP Compaq disks they may not work on a new board. In this case you would need to purchase a new Operating System as well.

    The CPU slot is different:

Old: Intel Processor Socket Type Socket 478

New: Socket 754 for AMD K8 Athlon 64 processor

And although that new board has on-board VGA:

On Chip (Radeon X300-based. 2D/3D graphic engine)

In order to play high end games you would want a PCI_E X16 card:

    1 x PCI Express x16 slot
