Noisy CPU Fan
Hi
My pc is noisy. I was thinking of replacing the fan with a quiet one. Does anyone have any recommendations? Is it easy to do?
Id heard that if you replace one fan you need to the another one to keep things even - is this the case? How many fan inside the pc and how do i know which one(s) to replace?
TIA

How many case fans you have depends on your case. Some have front case (intake) and rear case (exhaust). Some have multiple combinations. Some have side fans (intake).
You will also have a fan (or two) on the Power Supply Unit.
You most likely also have a fan on your Graphics Card GPU. (Graphics Processing Unit)
Finally your CPU fan/heatsink is mounted right on top of your CPU. (Central Processing Unit)
First off try cleaning any dust on the fans. If the existing fans are ball bearing you can carefully oil them.
Turn on the computer with the case open and see if you can determine the noisy fan.
Replacing case fans is very easy. Replacing the CPU fan/heatsink is not too difficult.
As to Power Supply or Graphics card fans these would be quite a bit more difficult.
