memory
My daughters boyfriend wants to increase the memory on his toshiba laptop from 256 to 512.Whilst I know how easy it is on a desktop what problems are there with a laptop? Wheres the best place to get memory in the UK?

I would recommend having a look at the manual for this laptop to see if there are instructions on how to do it. Some laptop memory upgrades involve removing the keyboard or various internal parts before you can get to the memory slots, though some are as straightforward as removing a small screw that secures a flap underneath, under which the memory can be easily accessed.
One member on here recommends Crucial.com, who are one of the big places for memory. I haven't used them myself. However, I can recommend www.Offtek.co.uk who I have used - good price and quick delivery - they also have a good range of stock

Just an additional note. If you are buying memery for a laptop, make sure its the right voltage, and size (the info should be availible in the manual or through their tech support)
Also make sure you pick a reputable retailer, as some that I've used are very picky and un-relieable
