    CPU + MB Temps

Hi Again. I have just started building my new computer and I'm a little lost about the CPU and MB temps.

CPU - AMD X2 4400 (Stock Cooler) Runs at around 42oC on the BIOS But runs at 34oC on PC Probe II. I have also overclocked the CPU by 10% (2.4ghz) and the temps have not raised.

MB - Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe runs at around 44oC on the BIOS and 40oC on PC Probe II. This was running at 46oC before i flashed the bios to the latest update.

Are these temps to high. And whats most accurate (BIOS or PC Probe II) program to find out the temps?

    Many Thanks, Steve.

For Stock Cooling those temps are quite good.

For another source you can try Everest:

Look under > Computer > Sensor

I, personally, highly recommend liquid cooling.

I have just noticed my 140mm Front case fan is broken. Would this cool down the MB temps after I get it replaced?

It will certainly help. My front fans blow onto my hard drives mainly but any improvement in circulation is a good thing!

Just got my case fan fixed. CPU = 31oC and MB = 37oC.

I have a jeantech Phong II case and was wondering if I could take out the side air filter and replace this with a 120mm fan?

Those temps are quite good for air cooling.

    Is this your case: http://www.custompc.co.uk/custompc/r...-phong-ii.html

The side fan sounds like a good idea providing that there are mounting holes or that you are prepared to make your own.

Yep thats the case. Everying is running ok now. Played Call Of Duty 2 and my temps reached around 46oC.

Only thing thats annoyed me is that I cant get my onboard sound to work. Not sure if it's damaged but it keeps picking up that I have speakers connected to the surround sound ports and it cuts off any sound to the line in. Do you think this could be a BIOS update (ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe, Biso 1205)

Do you have an additional sound card or is everything on-board?
