I have an old presario 5430us and I would like to know if I could to upgrade the ancient 64MB nVidia GeForce2 MX card that came with it. Here is the scan of my CPU:

At the compaq site http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...dlc=en&lang=en it says that the expansion slot for this model is a 4 x AGP. But there is a differance, at the site it says 5400 series. On mine its says 5000 series. Well I hope I can upgrade it to something good enough to play the new elderscrolls game.

I see no reason why you cannot upgrade that card although Compaq does not list upgrading on their site.
You might need to load the latest BIOS but I wouldn't even do that unless you run into a problem.
The fact that you can run 512 RAM as well as XP indicates a fairly good support base.
I would go for it although I would shoot for a mid-ranged stable AGP 8X/4X card (nothing fancy).
You will also have to remove the old drivers and install the new.
Although this applies to PCI cards the AGP should be a similar proceedure:
