    PC Upgrade Problems please help.

    Hi guys

i got your url from a google search and i hope you can help.

I recently tried to upgrade an old pc of mine. I replaced the mobo with a amd 64 kit from ebuyer. I am doing it on the cheap so i get the rest which is a 20gb hard drive, cdburner, floppy and a 128ram tornado graphics card.

I was expecting it to load as i have an install cd with the mobo i thought it would run and then i install the operating system. It was 98 but i have linux 64bit and i wanted to try that. All the lights and motor is running?

    thanks

So what is happening? Are you getting anything on the monitor? The BIOS POST? If not are you getting Beeps?

Are you certain that the CPU and RAM are compatible with the board?

What is the make and model of the board?

Was the CPU included? If not which one are you trying?

Are you sure the RAM = Support DDR333/266/200 2.5V DDR SDRAM

Also try the RAM in different slots. The first preferably if it is not already.

Also try booting with no RAM. Then try booting with no graphics card. In other words try to force beeps.

Are you sure that the case speaker is connected to the motherboard?
