new system and monitor won't work???
I've just built a new system and started it up for the first time and I can't get the monitor to work. The PC starts fine, but no display. It's an LCD monitor and it just comes up with the message,"no signal". I've of course checked all the basics like connections etc. I tried plugging in my old CRT monitor (that works fine on my other PC)and that doesn't work either. I also tried swapping the new vid card with my old one to see if it was the VGA but it still doesn't work. My vid card is an AGP. Am I to start assuming that it may be a problem with the AGP slot on my mobo, or could it be that I've forgotten to do something to the mobo (a jumper?) to allow data transfer through the AGP slot or something? The mobo is second hand ,not new. Incidentally, my new monitor works on my old PC okay.
Any help appreciated,
Thanks.

Is there an on board VGA port?
If so you need to set the BIOS on which to detect.

I tried swapping the RAM sticks around into a different order, and it worked.Cheers for your help anyways........
