i have just bought my 2nd dvd burner upgrade. the first one worked fine, i just took out the old dvd rom drive unit and replaced it with the new dvd writer. i bought another one today and tried to replace the other unit which was a cd -r/rw drive unit with the new dvd writer, the problem is that now my pc does not recognise any of the 2 new drives. i tried taking out the second unit and the pc recognises the first one again. why wont it recognise both at once, how can i get it to recognise both. Help please!!

Have you got one drive set as master the other set as slave?

i dont know, all i did was switch the drives, i didn't change any settings. i wasn't aware i had to!

If you have a look on the back of the Drive you'll see nest to the IDE cable some pins with a jumper across two of them like in the picture (that's set as slave)



One drive has to be set as master and the other as slave
