How do those water cooled things work, could they not be dangerous if there's a leak?

I just installed a liquid cooler. It actually uses a light viscosity antifreeze (ethylene glycol). The fittings are basic hand tightened compression fittings.

These things are very well machined. Leaks could only be the result of a very sloppy installation. On first boot of course I had the case open and protected my boards with a plastic drop cloth. No problems! The tank in my system was fitted into a 5.25" drive bay.

I think they are amazing and wouldn't be without it again! I think this method of cooling will be the norm at some future point. My next project is overclocking the Prescott since I have this nice temperature control.

    I lowered my 3.2 Prescott from 50 °C idle to 30 °C idle with a room temp of 26 °C

I was very pleased with this result

    Nice box spud!

I have the same size case and also mounted my radiator on the roof

    Sorry I don't have a camera

mine is the standard "midnight gray" dell dim 2400 case.

im building my own pc when i leave school/colege/uni and have a job.

at the mo, i want to buy a new case with a side window and fit LED fans, tidy up the wiring (with some sort of colourfull tubing) and just mount all the components from my existing case into the new one.

does any1 know how easy/hard this would be?

btw, thats a nice system spud

moving hardware from case to case is simple enough as log as you follow a few simple rules

1 static can kill computers so as long as you regualy earth your self you should be ok
2 you can never have enough labels on things so that you can see what went where and how
3 a slow methodical approach is by far the better way to go as aposed to rushing and screwing it up
4 plan your new case mods or instalment before you actually do it just to save a **** up happening
5 you can do a lot worse than asking questions on the forum if you have problems

for tidying up the wiring you can find cool sleeves which are a type of spiral bound sleeve or you can buy all different types of sleeving for your cables in various colours blue/green/red or even ultra violet

    hope this helps
