Need help with hard drive please!

Hi. I've bought a Windows XP Home PC from someone and I'd like to replace the existing hard drive with a new one as I don't want things like the previous owners old deleted files and deleted viewed web pages on my new PC. If I replace the hard drive, will all these things be gone? Or will Windows automatically copy them to the new hard drive? (this I don't want) There are no files on the PC that I do want, so I don't mind not backing up Windows and am prepared to re-install it. I'd be very grateful if anyone can help! Sorry if this is all obvious stuff, but I don't know a lot about computers!

    Hi and welcome to D-A-L

have you got a copy of XP to put on the new hard drive?

you can format the old hard drive that'll wipe everything of it including XP and either use that as a master amd you new drive as a slave or just replace the drive altogether what ever way you choose you'll need a copy of XP
