I need upgrade helppppppppp!
Okay. So I am trying to use Intel BOXD945GNTL Intel Socket 775 ATX Motherboard http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicat...&Tab=2&NoMapp=0 motherboard, 1gb 533mhz RAM, 2.8 ht intel pentium 4 cpu.
The problem is my HDD is not SATA, it is IDE. And my dvd/cd drive is also IDE, and does not support SATA either. I bought a converter to convert the IDE - SATA for my HDD, but this still won't work. If I just try to go with that all hooked up and then I will try to install windows it says no HDD connected.
So then I just unplugged the dvd/cd drive and connected the HDD straight to the IDE (my hdd already has windows installed on it). Put then I get "The Blue Screen Of Death!" What nowwwwwwww?
What should I do? Any ideas?

Does your BIOS recognize the hard drive when it is connected via the SATA/ATA/IDE converter?
You may need to check your BIOS Settings carefully and experiment.
Quite often there is confusion when mixing SATA & ATA/IDE. First off see how everything is listed. You may need to disable and or enable the SATA and or ATA/IDE.
Your old version of windows (assuming XP or 2K) will not load on a new motherboard. It needs to be reinstalled. You could try setting the hard drive on the ATA/IDE Master with the DVD/CD as slave so you can reinstall with that configuration.

Okay well I can either set my bios on 'Normal' 'Configure' or 'Recovery'
I am going to go try them all around now. Post anything if you know what it should be on or have any ideas.

# Enter the BIOS Setup program by pressing the <F2> key after the Power-On-Self-Test (POST) memory test begins.
# Select the Advanced menu and then the Drive Configuration menu.
