Upgrading with 2 problems :(
I just got my new gear from newegg, so of course I want to make my new comp! (who wouldn't)
So before I did anything computer #1
PC Chips M811 series KT266A
AMD 2000+ XP
Dual HardDrives 40g (primary) 120g (slave)
768 DDR 2700
GeForce 4 Ti 4200 64 megs RAM
and 3 CD Rom, CD-RW, DVD drives.
Now before I took anything out of my computer it worked like a charm, so my new computer required me to take out my 120g, 512 RAM, and the DVD drive.
And now Computer #1 doesn't feel like booting up. It'll sit at either a black screen with a cursor, or it'll display the video card settings, and sit there... Any suggestions or ideas? Maybe I hit out an accidental cord and didn't even realize?
And now Computer #2... To my knowledge i'm thinking that I got a bum mobo, but i'd like to get some confirmation before I deciede to RMA back to newegg and find out i'm an idiot =P.
So my new system (computer #2)
ASRock K7V88
AMD 3000+ XP
Radeon 9600XT 128mg RAM
The 512 DDR RAM
DVD Drive, and 120g hard drive.
I can't even get this to turn on...
I'll fiddle around with various different cords then all of a sudden it'll turn on for about 10 seconds and off. My friend and I sat there trying different combo's of connect the cords, and every once in a while it'll repeat the same process turn on, turn off. I know that it is not my new power supply that I bought because i've tried it in Comp #1 and it works like magic, just like i've tried Comp #1's PowerSupply into Comp #2's, with the same results...
Any idea's, suggestions? Or was this mobo truly dead before birth?
Thanks much! =)

Does PC #1 actually do the Power On Self-Test?? When you took the memory out, is the remaining memory module sitting in the first memory slot??
As for pc 2, are you sure that your psu is sufficient in terms of watts?? and your 12v supply needs to be chucking out about 22+ amps for your processor. Also, if you have the 4-pin (2x2 square) P4 connector on your board, make sure its hooked up with the p4 plug from your psu. Check that the cable from your crate on/off switch to your mobo is connected firmly and double-check that you have installed the cpu and heatsink correctly and that theres no excess paste that has seeped out the sides.
Try taking the dvd drive power out and booting up. then take the hard-drive power out and check again.
