    Re: Graphics card

Strange - the system does not always notify me by email when there is a reply.

What I now need to establish is:

You also need to check to see if your motherboard has an AGP slot as some only have PCI slots. An AGP slot is slightly larger than the PCI one and is usually darker in colour.

Can I establish this without opening the box?

Sorry Jephree - just realised that my last post was completely repeating something you had already said.

Hubuk, your motherboard is made by Microstar but it isn't listed on their web site. In fact, I can't find many references to the model anywhere on the Internet. If you received a motherboard manual with your PC, it will definitely tell you in there what ports or slots are inside your PC. If you don't have the manual, you can get the original documentation from the Medion web site: http://www.medion.co.uk

Click on "Service and support" and then select the "Drivers and updates" section. You can search by model number, which should be on the front or back of the PC somewhere, or by serial number, which will definitely be on the back.

    Hope that helps

    No problem DJ

I also reported earlier on the board having an AGP from benchmarks found on-line.
On retrospect onboard chips can also be referred to as AGP.

The DAL hardware scan does have a slot section:

    Expansion Slots:
    Property Value

This would be the answer then:

    Expansion Slots:
    Property Value
    Slot Designation PCI0
    Slot Designation PCI1
    Slot Designation PCI2
    Slot Designation AGP

    Slot Designation AGP

From that benchmark I found it appears your speed is 4X/8X i.e. any current AGP card.

    AGP Rates
    (Current/Available) 8x / 4x 8x
