Motherboard connections
Hi to all,
I have had to exchange a motherboard and i am a bit confused with the connections, i don't want to short it out, so before i turn it on i would like to get confimation that i am doing it right or not.
There is 4 leads
No-1, a 2 pin blue & white coloured wire with" standby" printed on it, which i have connected to the power connection on the M/B. [ CNS power ]
No -2, a 2 pin orange & white wire with " harddrive led " printed on it, which i have connected up with harddrive led 2 pin on the motherboard.
No-3, a 4 pin green & white wire, and printed on it is "power led + -" ?
No-4, a red & black wire with 4 slots in it that comes from the small speaker in the pc case, which i think would go the "cn14 4 pin connection" on the M/B
Could some one please advise me if i am on the right track or not.
thanks,
bluey

Every motherboard is different but it sounds to me like you should unplug the blue and white "standby" lead and connect the green and white lead to the power connection on the m/b instead.
If you want to be really sure, stick your motherboard make and model into Google (www.google.com) and you may be able to find the manual on the manufacturer's web site.
Hope that helps - let us know how you get on
