At the moment I have a celeron 2Ghz CPU, 768MB RAM and a 128MB Geforce FX 5200, I am upgrading my CPU to an Intel Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz, and was wondering will this increase the performance of my games, like Mafia, it only needs a 700Mhz CPU 32MB GPU, and on my Celeron system its rather choppy, especially when theres alot going on and I turn up the graphics, will the new CPU allow me to up the graphics a bit and make the game run smoother? upgrading is always good, but don't forget to keep your drivers uptodate as well ie, gfx drivers latest DX drivers and don't forget that hard drive.......good house keeping is the word, clear out unwanted programs, stop programs running in the back ground if there not needed (systray) and defrag often, if you many use your computer for gaming keep your system free form clutter....
