I have installed a new motherboard A8N-SLI deluxe with a Tagen TG480-U01
PSU, two 6800gt GPU, 2 x Crucial 512mb dimms recomended by Asus. While everything runs nothing appeares on screen. I'v used the mobo sensors to check that CPU and graphics cards work. I have tried differant dimms and had mobo checked independantly but nothing resolves the problem.
The bios has been reset and the only item that I have not checked is the PSU.
There is sufficient wattage in the PSU to drive the computer but can't find what is causing the problem. The mobo will only report through the Asus
Post Reporter and so far this only indicated a system memory failed. This was resolved with the instalation of the Crucial sticks. One strange thing is that if I now put in the previous memory the Asus report does not pick up the previos report. I can only presume that the report function may have been disabled.
Can anyone make any suggestions.
So you get the inital Bios screens but not the windows screens?
Screen goes to sleep within 5 secs of switching computer on.Originally Posted by AphJN
Have you pulled one of the FX6800s so that only one is in the system?
Yes.
I have rebuilt the machine from scratch adding 1 componant each time to see how it would react but as the mobo is now silent it is difficult to know what might be wrong.
