hi all, im hopeing that someone here can help me out with a problem im having today

i just bought a new motherboard, grafix card and ram today.
so i thought that i would have an easy time of putting it all together along side the old hard drive and dvd drive from my old computer.

so along i go and put it all together, everything looks fine so i boot up.

everything goes fine and im looking at what is happening and i notice that i no longer have a dvd drive working.

so now i have tried lots of stuff with the help of a freind and i cant seem to get anything to work.

if i dont get help im going to be left with no computer till tuesday as its a holidy here this weekend.
this is what i bought,

gigabyte 915g motherboard(ga-81915g duo)pci express
nvidia 6600 256 gfx (pci express)
2x 512 ddr2
p4 3.0 cpu

and im using from the old computer,

120gig hdd
lg dvd player


help me please someone

Check Bios at boot to see if it finds the DVD or watch the drive light on the DVD. It should blink when the Bios checks it (It will blink when initial power is applied)

If it doesnt blink, Check your cable. Make sure pin1 goes to Pin1...Some cables are not key'd correctly between MBs. An Asus MB key is different sometimes from an MSI.
