PCI Express is the newest expansion card interface. In other words, it's another type of slot in the PC just like ISA (the oldest), PCI (most common) and AGP (just for graphics cards). PCI Express builds on the popularity of the PCI interface, which is used for all kinds of devices (sound cards, modems, graphics cards, etc) and makes it faster. There still aren't that many PCs that have PCI-Express slots yet though. Your Abit NF7 motherboard doesn't have any.

It does have an AGP slot though, which is fairly common. Your motherboard supports 8X and 4X AGP speeds. The nVidia 6600GT graphics card that you're talking about is probably 8X but be careful - it might be 16X, in which case it will be too fast for your motherboard to support it.

I recently made a computer with an XFX GeForce 6600 and I've run Half-Life 2 on full detail flawlessly. However, my 6600 has 256mb of DDR RAM.
