    Big Hard drive install

My new 160G Seagate is on it's way(7200rpm 8Mb cache internal ata ide).
Replacing a slower WD 20Gb slave with stored apps, font files, junk etc.
Can I somehow keep the 20G Hdd and still add the new one? I'm thinking maybe an external enclosure might be the right thing...Please steer me right.
If a third drive can stay internal lemme know how to plug it in.
    Thanks

If you have an available internal bay you just need to add a PCI controller card such as:

    Ultra133 TX2

    Also external options available here:

Of course check the compatibility of components.

Also someone more knowledgable should be around shortly

I would slave the 160 to the 80 then put the 20 in an external enclosure. Since the external will not be as fast as the 80 or 160 and the 20 is slower than the 80 and 160, it will not impact your system performance. This is all based on the belief that the 80 and 160 are the same interface (parallel and 100 or 133 ATA settings)

    Thank you.
Yes the two drives are parallel and ata. I have seen ext. enclosure kits available that look like a fix for my needs...and for about $25, which seems worth it.
    I'm done!
