2 cd drives
I have a cdrw drive and would like to add cd drive at the moment have hard drive as master and cdrw as master. Would I get sound, onboard sound controller . Not very good at this. Pentium 4 wirh 512 memory

What is the make & model of the computer?
This scan is good for basic info:
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
Your hard drive is primary master & your cdrw is secondary master.
Most likely you can add a slave device on either or both of those ribbons.
So you could add a cd drive as a slave to your cdrw.
As to your sound question
Is there some reason you question your sound?

Thanks for the info dont know make of computer as case has no name. Was given it works ok but having problems with sound as its onboard and dont know what it is or how to get drivers.
Sorted all other hardware and got loaded Win2000
As I'm a pensioner dont want to buy soundcard unless forced too so any suggestions as to finding out what it is

Without knowing what chipset is on the mainboard it might be difficult to get hold of the correct sound driver. I assume its one of the AC97 thingies, mostly present on VIA chipset boards but cant be entirely sure about that so that leaves you with 2 options:
1) Try the hardware scan as suggested above and post back the results
2) If you feel confident about this, open the case and take a closer look at the mainboard. This might give you make/model or at least the chipset.

checked as you said is Via
got the drivers for sound
but got 3dfx voodoo 36610 graphics card help please is runnng vga on windows drivers

3dfx appear to have gone out of business - they've stopped support and have shut down their web site. You can get 3dfx Voodoo drivers from this alternative site:
http://www.voodoofiles.com/category.asp?x=2
...... however, I can't find any decent reference anywhere on the Internet to a 3dfx Voodoo 36610 model. Does it say anything else on it? Unfortunately, I'm not particularly familiar with Voodoo cards so I'm not sure what else to suggest.
Try running the D-A-L.com Online Hardware Scan (there's a link in my signature below) - it might come up with a more definitive model number.
