    848P-A (1.0)

Is the Western Digital a SATA RAID drive?

If so you need to install Intel SATA RAID Drivers as part of the XP setup.

If not let us know & we'll think in other directions.

Just to add: If it is an IDE drive: Are you creating a partition for XP or were you using the entire 200gb as a single partition?

    Same result every time?

    Where exactly does it freeze?

You say XP Screen: do you mean the CD screen or does XP load up to reboot & freeze on reboot?

    Or somewhere inbetween?

Does it copy files etc? About how long does it run untill freeze? Can you see what the process is when it freezes?

If you have succeeded in installing but it wont boot have you tried Safe Mode?

It freezes same place every time, loadseverything up and comes up on XP screen with blue Dots running across the box, about 4 times across it freezes, have left it sit as long as 3hrs, still in same place I left it at.

    Can you start Safe Mode?

Tap the F8 key after BIOS POST before the XP Screen?

Do not get that far in process, Files load and then the XP screen comes up and runs across 4 times and thats it. Will try Tapping the F8 key tomorrow PM

If the XP screen comes up you've gone too far.

    Or I am misunderstanding.

If you have successfully installed XP & it freezes on booting than the F8 tapping after BIOS POST should open Safe Mode options. You would NOT see the XP Screen.

If you are still in XP setup (pre-installation) then things are different.
