the only problem i see with doing an update which you have to get a new mobo is that most compaq's dont allow mobo upgrades i found that out when tryin to update my dads compaq

I had an overclocked ATi 9700, but sold it Seems that I can overclocked this machinge, judging by what I saw on the BIOS.

X800(now 6800GT) was on my list, but my powersupply didn't seem to like anything higher than the MX, so... I was going to run Gentoo, but because Compaq didn't seem to give you a Windows XP disk and the fact that the HD is soo small I am reluctant to do so. My other machine took Gentoo well though.

My configuration is as follows. Plz suggest an update within $ 100(INR 5000).
