installing mobo into new case
so I bought an Aspire X Dreamer II. the mounting plate did not have enought mounting holes for the mobo, i have a gigbyte that has 3 mounting holes on top, 3 in middle and 3 on the bottom

that is the mounting hole configuration on the mobo. for the plate on the new case, the first two columns have the copper risers in place and for the last column, there came 3 metal looking risers.
I was curious if anyone has this case, and used those, or if you are supposed too? i would think it would fry the board... anyways, I left them out, and now my mobo wont boot, it will turn on, but wont beep past bios,

Well first things first....
did you observe all the usual rules about preventing static-electricity when you were replacing the mobo??
also, the 'metal-looking' risers you talk of, do they actually line up with a hole, or are they literally supporting the board?

Did you get it sorted Brikal or do you still need assistance?

Sorry about the delayed responce, my internet has been down since when I posted, and I have been working on getting my new box setup.
I did get everything worked out, I RMA'd the board back to Newegg and 3 days later I had a new mobo and everything installed just fine.
The confusion was that I had never installed a mobo into a case with metal risers, only have seen the copper studs.
Thanks for the replies, and Im sure ill be back with more complex stuff later
