I just bought a new graphic card and it needs a 300w power supply and i only have a 250w so if i bought a 300w or above and put it in it wouldnt just fuse the motherboard or anything like that would it?

welcome to dal the online computer help forum if you get a bigger psu it will actually be better for the mother board as it will run a lot smoother as it does not put the effort in to it as its more powerful in the wattage if you were going to upgrade a psu i would personally gof or atleast 400 wattts as this will also be beneficial for any other future upgrades
