I would like some advice from the experts here as to what type of gift to give to a family member travelling for 8 months around to the world.

The budget is open..... to a sensible amount.

This technical gift needs to have internet access continually, be light to carry, safe to use, and user friendly to a lad that using a computer is not his first love. He is computer literate to a certain degree, but please do not assume he is as savy as one of the young usually are using computers.
