Duplicate Sim for car

Duplicate Sim for car
I am currently a vodafone customer, but have just purchased a car with a gsm phone kit in it. (this allows me to put a Sim card into the dashboard and me to make hands-free calls using the car stereo)
I have contact Vodafone about getting a duplicate Sim card simply for use in my car ( with the same number) so i don't have to remove my Sim from my phone and put in into my car every time i go out, as this will surely damage the Sim card after a while, it would also be inconvenient to have a different number for my car, as people will not know what number to contact me on.
Vodafone have been about as useful as a chocolate teapot, and want me to downgrade to a contract with no gprs no Internet no media messages etc pay £30 a month line rental, no free calls no free texts, then pay £7.50 per month per additional Sim ( minimum three additional Sims!)
The man at Peugeot said he had one a few years back and he paid £20 for a duplicate Sim on the agreement he turned his mobile off when he was in the car, but i cant seem to get anywhere with this idea!
Any other ideas?

I looked into this a while ago and in the end the best way around this was to get a cradle fitted in the car to dock the phone in. It's not ideal because you have to dock it and remember to take it out when you leave the car but it's MUCH cheaper than two SIMs and does the job. Obviously you do have the cost of fitting the cradle and appropriate wiring....

Thanks DAL!
I think Ive sorted it out now...
I have a cradle fitted in my old car, but it annoyed me as it didnt fit the "look" of the car, it also meant i was stuck having certain phones that were compatable with the cradel ( my current phone isnt with any that i know of!)
The car comes with the integrated phone, so ideally id like to actually use it, there's buttons on the dash for "call" and numbers to dial, its also voice controlled so i can push a button on the steering wheel, and say " call dad" and it will, it will even read my text messages out to me if i recieve one while driving.
I have decided to to buy a cheap "tesco's Value Sim" as they are only about £1.40 buy a little bit of credit for emergencies and quick out going calls, ( its 15p per min at all times for calls) then set my mobile to divert all calls to the tesco's Sim when i am in the car as 99.8% of calls will be incoming not outgoing, im normally in the car for prologued periods at night and i get free evening and weekend calls on my mobile, so it wont cost anything for the divert,
If i am in the car for a prolonged time and have to make a lot of calls myself ( Ive been known to spend 5 hours in the car in one go on occasions and actually be on a call for most of that time!) i will just stick my mobile Sim in the dash!
Another thing Ive just found out is, the phone system is part of a "telecommunications pack" so it also includes, integral satnav, mp3 player, cd changer and jbl speakers, but.... it will also play Dvds! ( after a little tweaking)
I really did want the bluetooth phone kit they do, but its not compatible with the sat nav and mp3 player!

Yes I did notice that the cradles only support certain phones which can be a pain. It's a shame the Multi-Sim product from Vodafone is so much more a month as that system sounds ideal, you can have up to ten sims on different devices like PDA's, phone, laptop etc and then you simply nominate with a keycode which one shoud be LIVE at any one time.
What sort of Peugeot have you bought?

The multisim would be brilliant, if it wasn't so expensive!
In theory i haven't bought it "yet" I've got 2 garages fighting over my sale so bringing there prices down
Who ever comes down the most by the end of today wins.
Im getting a 207cc... but shhh its a secret! hehe
