I was using iTunes the other day and happened to switch to the US store. I noticed that on the left-hand side there was a link to download/purchase full length films. That's exactly what I have been after since I got a Video iPod but the UK iTunes store doesnt list Films yet

Anyone know when it will or any plans to do so?

Theres no specific date, but there are many rumours they are in negotiations, one coming from a politician in Luxembourg who they have been dealing with as one of many European countries, but Apple haven't made any announcements about a UK launch.

Interesting. I find it really annoying because that's exactly what I want the iPod for to download my favourite films to watch when away etc

It annoys me anyway that they have specific stores for each country because we have to pay more for our music. I know we have all the additional taxes and stuff, but you can buy items online from America! Its pointless releasing the video iPod in the UK I suppose if you don't have a service to support it... well there is the music video service, but I can't imagine people would buy one to watch music videos.

I agree. I was wondering though, what's stopping me signing up a US iTunes account and downloading stuff? Haven't really looked into the detail of it but I might do...

I tried that before, if I remember rightly, I think you need a valid US Address to sign up. Not sure though, but I know they won't make it easy.

Hmm I'll take a look I have a few US addresses I could use. Like you say though I expect there are a few gremlins in there somewhere to trip you up.

Its possible but you're right You can use any address, but what about the payment method! Exactly.
