Going on a out of the country trip and need to keep in touch with my family through e-mail and facebook. I was looking for and laptop net or note book but now leaning towards an internet tablet. I don't need an expensive one, this will only be used one time and just lay around the house afterwards. I found 3 around $200, a Cruz, Coby Kyros, and a Archos, all 8". They all have about the same specs but the wifi is different, some have 802.11 b/g and the other one is 802.11 b/g/n. What would be the difference between b/g and b/g/n, does one have a better connection?

‘N’ is the better standard (since 5 years) and will eventually make ‘G’ a passing memory. But for now, many mixed legacy environments of the two standards still run at lower overall speeds.

G is slower than N , G is 54mps While N is like 300mps, G also has a shorter range.

N will work with a G router, but your speed will be what the G router broadcasts it at (54mps with a strong connection).

Thanks for the help, I guess I'll look at the tablets with b/g/n instead of just b/g
