Hello,
My computer is constantly sending data somewhere - the number of packets sent are almost equal to the packets received, and there is a constant stream of packets being sent at all times. Is this normal? It does not make sense to me, and it concerns me that I may have a virus or similar. I have done a full scan with Vipre and everything is clean. What do I do to find out what is being sent and see if there is a problem?
Thanks and regards
Pierre
Do I use P2P or torrents - no, not as far as I am aware. Thanks for the links - I will follow the steps.
Regards
If you used them, you would be aware of them. If you have any teenage children with MP3 players, you may want to ask where they are getting their music.Do I use P2P or torrents - no, not as far as I am aware.
No teenage children. Earlier this year in Vietnam, I was listening to music on Jango (Jango - Free Music -- Listen to Music Online - Internet Radio). No downloads, but just listening online. Could that be a problem?
That appears to be a safe site. When did the problem start?
Yes, it seemed relatively safe. That was in around April this year and the problem seemed to start about a month ago, so quite a timelag since I used Jango. I have been reading up on how Skype can dominate computers for their own use - could that be a problem? I have followed the instructions you have given and have submitted the 5 log files in a new post. Thank you for your help.
It is best now to wait until Malware Removal declares your system safe. Any changes we make now may change the log results. They get busy over there as it can be time consuming so please be patient. In the mean time, you can certainly pull your network cable to make sure nothing gets out.could that be a problem?
