i used my acer laptop to set up my D-Link wireless router with
the ethernet cable and now i cannot connect to internet wirelessly
i tried resetting laptop to factory default but still no joy could someone
help please.

That's pretty hard when you have provided no information about your computer, other than it is an Acer notebook. We don't know what model, its features, or even what version of Windows.

Can other computers connect wirelessly?

What do you mean it will connect locally? Can you connect to your network and see other computers? If so, your wireless is working and I would look at firewall, security or router settings.
