I have recently moved to India where the host institution i'm staying at provides internet through a proxy server. I haven't has any trouble acessing websites but I can't use applications that use the internet as i assume they are being blocked. I am currently trying to get access to a 'remote desktop'. This is a citrix application provided to me by the institution i work for that allows me to access programs as if i were sat at a computer at the institution. I really need to get access to it for work! Every time I try and connect though a message pops up and says:

'Cannot connect to Citrix XenApp server. An Input/Output error occured while your request was being processed.'

Can anybody help me with this?

I also can't access any games that require an internet connection although this obviously isn't important but any help with this would be apprecaited.

Whoever set up the network quite possibly has the required ports blocked. You will have to talk to whoever that person is to see if he/she will open up the ports. Sorry but there is nothing that we can do for you.
