When I download HiYo on my desktop computer, I get a Runtime Error. There must be something with my computer that is causing this. I have downloaded it on my laptop and it works fine. My friends have downloaded it on their computers with no problems. Is there some kind of scan I can run that will locate the problem and fix it?
A Trend-Micro scan comes up clean.
Here is the Pop-up I get.
I have tried contacting their support team a half a dozen times over the last few months with no success. Just never hear back from them.
Then I remembered DAL and thought I would try here since I have gotten help here in the past.![]()
Hi Travis
Runtime errors are caused by many different things
See here for a short explination Runtime Error
If you have all the updates for the program. Try unstalling the program using the free version of Revo Uninstall
found here Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems
This will ensure the old registry enteries are removed before you do a clean install.
This could also be virus related so perhaps trying a online virus scanner like Eset online scanner
found here Free ESET Online Antivirus Scanner
You will need IE for this. If you use another browser you will need to install a small downloadable file to use Eset
If that finds any virus problems then I would post your problem with D-A-Ls virus removal team
found here Spyware, Adware, Viruses and Malware Removal
To make sure your PC is clean before reinstalling the application.
Jim
I used the Revo uninstaller, then ran a scan and the computer is clean. I still get the Runtime Error.![]()
If you have Adobe Flash Player 10.1 have you installed the latest update.
HiYo support say this Support
Hope that helps
Jim
Yes, that was the first thing I did.
In my search for answers to your problem many suggest the runtime error coud be a virus and suggest you need to
check for viruses with really strong virus tools.
I know you've used Eset which is a good online virus scanner.
Since its the policy (one which I support) that any virus problem be dealt with by the D-A-L virrus/spyware team.
I suggest you post your problem here Spyware, Adware, Viruses and Malware Removal just to confirm there's no virus problem.
The only reason I suggest this is they can advise you to use tools I cannot in this forum.
Meanwhile I will continue to see if I can find any further help for your problem.
If I do I will post it here.
Jim
Thanks for the help. I have used Trend Micro for years and never have had a virus. I am currently using Trend Micro Titanium. I have run the full virus scan with it and the computer is clean.
It may possibly be that something starting on your PC is conflicting with HiYo
If you run msconfig and select Diagnostic startup. This will start your PC
with only basic device and services. Then try HiYo. Will it now start without the runtime error?
If so then it a matter of re-enabling starup items devices and services to see what is conflicting with HiYo.
This could take sometime to locate the conflicting startup item.
If it wont start in diagnostic startup
Run through selective startup
An How to on windows msconfig is here How to use MSCONFIG: NetSquirrel.com
Select the one for you OS

Thanks, I will try this this weekend and see what happens.
