I have Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail. I am suddenly finding that most of my e-mails are not opening. At least, when I double click on them I get an empty notepad window . I can read the messages through Webmail but this is not so convenient - have you any suggestions please.

Hmmm, blank emails seems to be a common problem, but I cannot find a common resolution. Just to clarify, when you say an empty "Notepad" window, do you really mean "Notepad" as seen when you click Start > All Programs > Accessories, and then click Notepad?

When you say "most", can you determine the difference between those that work and those that don't?

Thanks for that Digerati - I must have had a very senior moment as now I can't locate any in Notepad form, although I am sure there were - I attach a screen grab of the page that shows up when I open an e-mail. This problem may have occurred following an e-mail with Incredimail graphics attached - I do not have Incredimail on my PC - would this cause a problem. I can't differentiate between e-mails, it seems to be those from friends and also from the likes of Amazon.
