When I attempt to stream live sports events from :

    Raycom Sports - Login
    OR:
    PJTV - Tea Party Convention
OR: ESPN.....the picture skips and stops intermittently and/or stops for extended periods. I have spoken with my Centurylink support folks and they have told me that my connection and speed are adequate for this. The also informed me that it is my computer that needs "tweaked" to solve this problem. Can y'all help me with this, please?

    Hi

DRTCP is a tweaking tool could helps to tweak/improve your download speeds.
Its found here DRTCP: How do I use it and what are all these settings? Tweaking FAQ - dslreports.com
Read the instruction on that page and give it a try

The formula for finding your "ideal" RWIN is to take your latency (average ping time in ms x 1.5), multiply that by your advertised (download) speed and divide that by 8.

Note: If setting RWIN below 8192, try using even multiples of MSS.

I do not understand what I have to do with this tool. I am not a geek...so....could you please "baby feed" me on how to set and use DTRPC?

    Hi

To assist you make the correct settings DSL have tweak tester found here Tweaking for speed - dslreports.com
At the bottom of the page there's a java tweak tool
Click on Start and it will do download test of your system.
You then click on the results button which take you to a page
were you can inform the tool
    A) your maximum download speed (the speed your ISP advertises for your package)
    B) Your connection type ie cable, dsl or wireless
    C) Your OS
    D) Your connection type example PPPOA you can get that information from your router stats.
    If unsure select normal
Now select the recommend button and you will receive all the information you will need to enter
    information in the tweak tool.

Have you got the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed on your system?

After installation verify that your version is Recommended Version 6 Update 20

I would also suggest you install more RAM as it takes just about all you have to run your OS so streaming from the internet would struggle for that reason too. You can scan your system for the correct type etc, here

    best regards,
