Hello, brainy people.

I have just successfully downloaded utorrent onto my pc, (windows xp), everything is set up ok and I have downloaded Open office torrent file as a speed test (offered by utorrent)to make sure all is ok. No problems and its now sitting as a file in my documents. However, windows cannot open it. Can you suggest a , free if poss, programme that I can download to open this and future torrent files, thank you, Steve.

Hello Friend,
Once installed, open Torrent and click ‘File’ from the menu bar.
1. Click ‘Add Torrent’
2. Now, browse your hard drive for the torrent file (with the extension .torrent) and open it.
3. You can now select the destination directory and the file name to be ‘saved as’.
4. Select only the required files from the list placed at the bottom of the windows and click ‘OK’.

There are various softwares that will allow you to open and download the content from .torrent files. BitTorrent has their own software using which you can open .torrent files. We prefer using uTorrent though, a lightweight software, which is fast and allows for easy management of .torrent files.
