Hey Everybody, I was hoping you guys can help me with my problem. My modem keeps disconnecting and reconnecting, mostly during times when I play Modern Warfare 2. I thought it was the game, but it happens outside during normal web browsing as well. I called my ISP, but they did a check and said the lines okay, any idea is appreciated.

How do you connect to your modem?

What indication of this "disconnecting and reconnecting" do you receive?

What is your operating system and who is your ISP? Also what is your service plan with your ISP? Is it a basic service or a premium service?

Is this a new problem? Didi it ever work OK in the past?

Well , the modem lights start blinking crazy. I have a plan with Charter, and the modem is directly connected to the PC. Operating system is a 64 bit Vista.

The problem started happening a month ago. It was working perfectly fine and then all of sudden, it started to disconnect. It also reconnects after about 5 to 10 min if I do not reset the modem myself.

May be your computer has been infected by a virus. Buy a new antivirus software and install it on your computer. And sometimes the Internet keeps disconnecting and reconnecting due to a faulty modem.
