I can't seem to locate my Norton Product Key, it isn't located where it's supposed to be (in the programme dialogue box), and when I try to log into my account their website tells me I have no product activated, even though I have been using and successfully renewing a subscription for Norton Internet Security 2005 since 2006.
I filled out an e-mail form to send to them asking for help reitrieving it only to reach the bottom to find that they want the blasted product key in order for me to even ask the question! So i was unable to send it.
Has anybody any ideas?
How did you buy your latest subscription? From the website? If so is there perhaps somewhere that you can log in to retrieve it? Perhaps they sent it to you in an email. If you bought a disk and it didn't come with one then I would take it back. Maybe you are suppose to reuse your old key or if you use that maybe you will able to email them. Thats all I have.
Take back a disk from 2006? I don't think so.If you bought a disk and it didn't come with one then I would take it back
The key is not located somewhere under Help, About?
He said subscription renewal, not product upgrade.
Many thanks for your replies chaps, the Norton was preloaded on a PC, I have renewed the subscription on a yearly basis since 2006.
I have just used Symantec's 'live chat' facility. They told me that they wouldn't have a product key for pre-installed software, but gave me a free upgrade to NIS 2010.
The whole thing took about twenty minutes once the link had been set up, and was most convivial.
Companies like Symantec often take a pasting on web fora, but I have only ever had good experience of their customer support, this is another particularly good example.
