I have a dsl modem and i can't get the full speed can someone please tell me what to do, the transfer rate is 1Mb/sec I'm only getting 118 KB/sec from direct downloads (internet provider didn't help)

Can you give more detail what plan you are running from your Internet Provider.

Here is a link you can test your service against what you are paying for either it be dial-up, Broadband or perhaps cable.

Another that could be helpful to determine your plan.
