Network works but no internet.
Hey Everyone,
My friend has asked me to fix her computer and I'm having some serious difficulty.
At her place, it was connected through a netgear router. I could see the network, but I couldn't access the internet. I tried going straight to the wall, but that didn't work.
So I brought the computer back to my place. It is now connected with a cable to my belkin 54g router. I can see and access all the other computers on my network. When I open safari, or ie, it comes up with the no internet connection message.
IP is good 192.168.2.8
DG is 192.168.2.1
Any suggestions?

Thought I would post a bit more info:
- Running XP Pro SP2
- P4 3.4 GHz
- 2 GB Ram
None of the antispyware or antivirus programs I have running on here (AVG, Adaware, Spybot) can access the internet in their update programs either.
Not sure if it's a problem, but my ethernet adaptor is called Local Area Connection 17. Not sure why it's 17...
