Hi guys, i am new here.

I have a very strange problem that has been baffeling me for a couple of weeks now. it is this:

I am on BT-Broadband, and it is working fine, I have plugged in my laptop and have no problems what so ever, so I know that the router is working perfect.

But, when i plug my main pc into the router, I can connect to the internet useing IE, Yahoo, MSN, KAZAA, Outlook. But no other software will make a conection, examples of some I have tried... AVG (the update client), FilePlanet Download agent, UTorent, numerous MMORGP client programs, Looking in the help files for this programs it says that the problem is due to a firewall restricting access to the ports needed, but I dont have a firewall running on my PC, and I know that it is not the hardware firewall built into the router, because my laptop uses the same router and all the above mentioned programs work great on it.

If anyone can help I would be internaly gratful.

I have sorted this problem now.... it was due to something that norton left behind, when it was uninstalled from the PC
