I am trying to play streaming radio over the internet. Every time I try to get on: although I choose Windows Media, my computer treats the request as a file opening request and asks me if I want to open the file or save it to computer. Then Winamps comes up instead of Windows Media, and of course no matter which option I choose there's no response. Then I'll try using the Winamps connection icon and I'll get: "Bad DirectSound driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. Error code 88780078". I tried uninstalling Winamp but then it told me there was no audio hardware installed. Although I had no problems with streaming radio before I installed Winamp. Any ideas?

:yippee: i went in to the options section of WinAmp and under plugins, in the output area i saw the out_ds.dll file was there.. you have the ability to change the properties of the specified dll.. after looking thru the options, i found that it had changed my soundcard setting, from my soundcard to a generic name.. i switched it back to my soundcard and got no problems.. no more error.. just thought i would pass the info along..
