Router or ISP connection dropping. Either way it's driving me crazy!

I'm having major problems with loss of connection and i'm pretty much sure it is my wireless router that's causing the problem.
The connection keeps dropping for a couple of seconds and then coming back. This happens when the computer/s are connected through cables as well so i doubt it is the wireless network.
It is a BT Voyager 2110 router.

I have checked everything i know of but a lot of the settings are above me.

I have 128 bit WEP encryption turned on.
I have changed the MTU to 1400 (ISP recommendation)
I have upgraded to the latest firmware.

    That's about it really...

The other thing i am noticing is very high latency when playing World Of Warcraft. My ISP did a check on the line and everything came back normal. They blamed the game servers (typical )

    Any advice is most welcome

Sorry to hear this Vidster, and I am no help except to tell you I had the same problem with 2 routers [Linsky I think] and it WAS the routers. I am really suspcious when a connection goes bad after a new router install, or the router is "getting on a bit". Can you borrow a friend's router to test? It's one or the other, router or ISP, but the ISP won't tell you either.:nervous:

Hope you have some luck working this out. A slow connection is really annoying when you are paying $$ for faster.

Vidster, Are there any settings for auto negotiate in the router? also, try adjusting some properties of you NIC ( they are all different) one QUICK way is to beg, borrow or Steal another router, plug that in with your same settings and see what happens...

The connection isn't slow though Orphelia. It's just cutting out once every so often and coming back again :? I've noticed it's happening at roughly the same time every night. I wonder if the exchange isn't up to the job?

I had a similar issue, oh about a year ago, it turned out to be my ISP's modem that they gave me, they gave me a new one, and everything was fixed.

Yes, I had all that as well. It "could" be the exchange doing upgrades. Does your ISP site tell you that they are doing upgrades? Planned upgrades? If not, I still go with my original suggestion and suggest trying another router, as Jazzman has also said. Beg or Borrow.

I don't see anything for auto negotiate jazzman and i don't know what NIC is ops: I don't know anyone with a wireless router except me :? I think i'm going to have to take the plunge and pay £1 a minute to get it sorted.
