    Another one bites the dust

Symantec is going to ditch all Sygate products. One of the best free firewalls too

Leave it up to 'em

I knew this would happen as soon as Symantec stated they were taking over. I thought we would have longer than this though :?

Ohh well, ZoneAlarm here we come i suppose

I will die and let hackers infest my computer before I go back to zone alarm.

I've never used it (ZoneAlarm). Is it really that bad?

Guess some research is in order during the next week or so.

Unless you like over-intensive applications

ZoneAlarm isn't too bad, just don't use the 6.0 versions yet. There are still some bugs yet to be fixed. v5.5 was quite a stable release.

    Hi,

You need to also have a heads up about Kerio Firewall which will be gone by the end of December....discontinued, zip, nada, Kaboom, gone. That makes two great ones that will not be around. I have used Kerio and it was excellent...wow, hard to say the word "was" because it is no more to be.

I don't think there should be massive rush to replace either firewall though. When was the last time your firewall had an update? I can't remember the last time mine did.
I will be reviewing all the offerings before uninstalling Sygate. If it takes longer than a few weeks, then so be it
