    LuComServer_2_6.EXE

    Hi,

My Zone Alarm keep detecting LuComServer_2_6.EXE, and asking for me to accept or deny it. I did a search on it, and one site said that is was a good program, and another one said if it comes up a lot, to check into it.

    Any thoughts ?

    Thanks!
    NYF.

Hiya NYFile and welcome to the forum

The process your Zone Alarm is picking up is the Symantec LiveUpdate Engine from your antivirus software. As long as you are still using Symantec antivirus software you are fine to choose 'Allow' the next time Zone Alarm pops up with a warning.
Your antivirus will not be able to check for new virus definitions while your firewall is blocking it

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Vid,

I am using Norton as the anti-virus. Is that the same as what you mean when you say Symatic ?

Here is the link to that web site that came up from the Google search.

    http://www.webuser.co.uk/forums/show...?Number=180942

It was a little confusing, but I didn't have the LUCom file in my C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 directories.

    Thanks!

    NYF.

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
They are indeed the same thing NYFile. Symantec are the company that own Norton.
The file will probably be bundled in with your Norton antivirus.

The first reply in that thread confirmed that the file is safe, they just didn't make it very clear

    Hope this helps
