First of all beta's suck. They are test products and are full problems. that is why they are beta. I don't use then especially then I can have the final version.

I don't have ads with my browser. I don't like freeware remember. I'm not cheap. I'll pay for something good.

If it is free, No matter how you classify it, there is aways a price to pay. In the case of firefox, it is that you give up your security, wheather you want to believe it or not. Mozilla made it like that on purpose.

As far as the unstable thing goes, It doesn't matter if each thing you add is stable. A bunch of things put together no matter how stable they are, can become unstable. Stability varies from computer to computer on IBM and IBM compatibales. This if because IBM stoled all their parts for their computer off other computers. They couldn't put a patent them. One thing that they came up with on their own, so they patent that part of their computer and all compatible had to patch around it. It is these patches that makes things unstable. The more complex you try to make a program the more unstable they become.

Themes, plugins, patched, and any add-on of any type ypu add to a program makes it bigger and more complex. The bigger and more complex it be comes, the more chances you have of it failing.

Care to back that up with some evidence? I'm all for theories, but hard solid evidence is what I believe and many others.

True dat. But that is why Mozilla regulates this. As many things I have done to my Fx, it still has not crashed on me for ever how long I've been using it for. Still loads faster then IE, or Opera.

And beta is not always full of bugs. Alpha is the one full of bugs . Take Microsoft for an example, sure there are bugs, but its fun finding those bugs, and plus you get free items

    Browser wars. I love em.

Firefox is just too slow for me in windows and linux. Opera is faster. In fact Mozilla suite and K-meleon are faster.

I've really developed a liking for little k-meleon. Fastest of the lot. Hopefully, it dosn't get abandoned.

Mozilla leaves a back door in their browsers so they can have access to them, which is no big deal. That kind of thing happens alot with things you download for free. The probablem with it is that is gives a point of entry to it for hackers, adware, viruses and things like that. once they are in then they will have full control of your browser.

But that is alright. you all kiip using firefox and it will become a bigger and bigger target for all these things. the next thing you will know you will need 10 adware prevention programs instead of 3 or 4 of them. Meanwhile, I won't need any.

I'm glad it's not only me who doesn't trust or like FFx. I like Opera, and I pay for it. IE is still faster on my PC than Opera, but Opera is sure faster than FFx.:dgrin: Normal programming may now commence:eyespop: !

Now you claim that they do this on purpose Ren? Out of the 50 million downloads don't you think one person would have found this? And I'm still waiting on that evidence...:eyespop:

As for not trusting Fx, and Opera? Why would you do that? Opera is not open-sourced, so the community cannot find bugs, but can only exploit them. Why would you trust a company that has ad-ware in their products versus a company that is completely open-sourced and free, without the adware? I'm still looking for that hard proof evidence, we somehow went from Fx vs Opera, into the ethics of these two companies, just because you have a pay option does not mean anything...Even the biggest Corporations have problems, and stick hidden things in their products. I would show you my blog entry, but still working on getting it back up. When I purchased my Dell laptop, it had spyware installed on it on purpose as Dell does with every computer system.

Any company can slap a price and have adware in their free verison does that make the product good? No!

Take a look Here notice that they have a huge list of bugs. Did this happen with Fx 1.0? Nope, because its open-sourced and they found the bugs already. It is simply impossible to claim a product with over 50 million downloads, and is completely opensourced to have a backdoor in it...Impossible unless you show me some real evidence.

    Browser wars. I love em.
Me too. I typically stay out of heated issues, but when it involves Tech, its a completely different side of me...

Somehow I just saw this, very sorry ops:. Fx is the correct usage, I made a post on another forum about this a little while ago. FF is very common, but Fx is the true acronym.
